I’ve been hired by a lighting fixture manufacturer looking to hire 2 product managers. You do NOT need to have prior product management experience. They are interested in people that have been in inside sales, outside sales, quotes, etc. and really understand lighting fixtures, competitors’ products and what makes them better or worse, etc. They will mentor with their existing product manager to help develop product road maps, determine which lines to expand or consolidate, help with pricing and marketing strategies, etc.  This is a great opportunity to get into a growing company and start a new path in product management.
