Q: Hi Prudence,I recently received a call from another headhunter for a job that I’ve heard you’re working on too. I believe he presented me to the company but I’ve never heard from him again, even though I’ve left him several messages. I think I’m a great fit for it, can you get me in? -Eric

A: Hi Eric, Unfortunately, I can’t. In recruiting, specifically in a contingency situation, the recruiter who presents you first ‘owns’ your candidacy. I’d be happy to follow up with the company to see if you are in consideration but it’s really as far as I can take it. – Prudence
