I have been retained by the largest third-party independent service provider for industrial gas turbines in the world. The organization offers the most comprehensive, efficient, and synergistic independent aftermarket solutions organization in the power generation industry.
We are seeking a Metallurgist Engineer to join their exceptional team in their Houston, TX facility.
Salary range: $100k – $150k
The Metallurgical Engineer is responsible for constructing, maintaining and implementing process controls to improve overall quality as per industry standards and meet customer requirements. Additionally, this role will also provide expertise in sample preparation, evaluation, and material classification of advanced turbine coatings, while warranting compliance to safety, regulatory, and other principal procedures.
- Develop Technical Data Sheet (Heat Treatment & Testing requirements) based on material, governing standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Review and advise on technical & specific requirements on a customer PO.
- Review and execute approval of special manufacturing processes that have metallurgical requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to the team and customers, driving solutions in process improvement, product development, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational excellence and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Does this sound like you?:
- Minimum 5 years of metallurgy or related fields
- Knowledgeable in forging materials and their applicable mechanical & chemical properties to meet the governing standards/ specification/ requirement
- Understanding of raw materials, forging, heat treatment and its production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effectiveness of the material
- Must be a detail-oriented, high energy, self-starter with the ability to drive the successful completion of projects within specified time frames
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with diverse groups
Ideally seeking:
- 5 years in Gas Turbine industry
- Knowledge of welding / brazing processes
- Knowledge of protective coatings for gas turbine components
- Experience with Gas turbine material selection: Stainless steel, low carbon steel, nickel, and cobalt alloys for components throughout the gas turbine
