I am partnering with a multifaceted Electrical Contractor located in West Central, Michigan. The company is highly respective and viewed as experts in the trade, providing electrical construction services in an array of markets nationwide, including industrial, health care, educational, food processing, commercial, and senior living markets.

We are seeking a Project Manager to join the growing organization.
Pay range $90 – $115k and may be higher for the right fit candidate. This role is eligible for a bonus and vehicle allowance as well as company cell phone.
The Project Manager will be responsible for providing effective project management guidance and leadership to a team of electrical construction professionals. You will be servicing the Midwest Region in industrial, commercial, and institutional electrical and low voltage construction projects.
- Manages total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Outline project timelines, phases, and staffing needed to navigate project through completion.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Problem solves engineering issues and provides solutions.
- Provides technical assistance i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc.
- Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Release project materials and equipment in coordination with project progress.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with clients.
- Initiate and maintain extra work by estimating and issuing of change orders.
- Regularly review progress reports with senior management
- Maintain liaison with clients, subcontractors, and generals to ensure construction activities support project schedules and various client requirements.
- Collaborate with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and key team members involved in the project.
- Represent the company in project meetings with client, subcontractors, etc. as required
- Maintain official project log and documentation files.
- Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety policy.
- Responsible for negotiating and purchasing major components necessary for completion of projects
- Obtain appropriate permits and licenses from authorities when necessary. Call for electrical inspections in accordance with project progress.
- Ensure timely submittals
- Review and approve project progress billings

- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, or related discipline
- Minimum of 15 years` experience in electrical construction or service, estimating, supervision, or electrical engineering.
- Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience
- Current State of Michigan Journeyman’s License
- Thorough knowledge of the current National Electrical Code
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); estimating software such as Accubid preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
- Self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others
