We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer that will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of electrical switchboards per UL 891 Standards and for Panel Boards per UL 508 standards. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, optimizing production processes, and collaborating across departments to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of UL standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), ANSI standards, and extensive experience in the switchboard manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
- Lead the design of electrical switchboard systems, including schematic diagrams, wiring layouts, and bill of materials.
- Ensure designs meet UL, NEC, and ANSI standards.
- Conduct design reviews to validate accuracy, compliance, and manufacturability.
- Help Create internal standards for wiring to gain consistency and efficiency in releasing production orders.
- Stay updated on relevant electrical standards and regulations.
- Ensure all switchboard designs and production processes comply with applicable standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for regulatory compliance within the organization.
Production Support:
- Collaborate with production teams to address technical challenges during manufacturing.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide training and technical support to production staff on electrical systems and standards.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality, and manufacturing, to ensure project success.
- Maintain project documentation and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive innovation by introducing new technologies and methodologies.
- Lead root cause analysis for product or process issues and implement corrective actions.
Collaboration and Mentorship:
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to provide technical support during customer engagements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical switchboard design and production.
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of UL standards, NEC, and ANSI requirements.
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise systems is a plus.
