Position Summary

The best Project Managers do far more than manage schedules. They become the central point of communication, the technical translator, the commercial advocate, and the person everyone trusts to keep a project moving forward when challenges inevitably arise. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex engineered electrical projects from initial release through final delivery while working alongside an experienced team of engineering, manufacturing, and operations professionals.

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the complete execution of assigned projects within a highly customized engineered to order manufacturing environment. You will coordinate schedules, communicate with customers, manage documentation, evaluate commercial risk, and ensure projects remain on track from both a technical and financial perspective. Every project requires attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to anticipate issues before they become problems.

What You Will Be Responsible For

You will serve as the primary point of coordination throughout the life of each project, working closely with sales, engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and customers to ensure every milestone is achieved according to schedule. Your ability to keep multiple priorities moving simultaneously while maintaining clear communication will directly influence customer satisfaction and overall project success.

You will review contract documents, customer specifications, electrical drawings, and technical requirements to ensure complete understanding before production begins. From there, you will develop accurate bills of material, coordinate engineering submittals, review returned comments, communicate revisions internally and externally, and ensure every change is properly documented and executed.

Working closely with the engineering team, you will review switchboard and panelboard designs for both technical accuracy and contractual compliance. You will coordinate short circuit and coordination studies, prepare change order pricing when project scope evolves, and help ensure every product delivered meets customer expectations as well as applicable industry standards.

You will manage equipment releases into production, coordinate long lead material procurement, monitor manufacturing schedules, and work directly with customers to coordinate deliveries. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will maintain ownership of documentation, enter and update information within the ERP system, and provide post shipment support whenever necessary.

Customer communication will be one of your greatest responsibilities. You will proactively provide schedule updates, respond quickly to questions, resolve concerns before they escalate, and build confidence through transparency and consistency. Rather than waiting for customers to ask for status updates, you will anticipate their needs and communicate before they ever have to make the call.

Ideal Fit

We are seeking an experienced project management professional with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Candidates with a Mechanical Engineering degree supported by significant switchboard manufacturing experience will also be considered.

You should bring a minimum of five years of experience within the switchboard or panelboard manufacturing industry along with a thorough understanding of engineered to order manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, UL 50, UL 50E, and related electrical standards is essential, as is the ability to confidently interpret electrical drawings, one line diagrams, schematics, and customer specifications.

You have a strong understanding of power distribution equipment including switchboards, breakers, bus systems, and related electrical assemblies. You are comfortable working with ERP systems, Excel, and project documentation while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail.

Equally important is your ability to communicate effectively with customers, engineering teams, manufacturing personnel, and leadership. You understand that successful project management is built as much on relationships and responsiveness as it is on technical knowledge.

Experience with Schneider SE Advantage, Eaton Bid Manager, ABB Empower, Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar project management and configuration tools will be viewed favorably. PMP certification, experience creating customer dashboards, and familiarity with emerging AI tools that improve workflow efficiency are also considered valuable additions.
