Senior Executive Leadership
VP and C-Suite Senior Leadership Search
Lighting, Wire and Cable Power Distribution, Automation, Renewable Energy, Cybersecurity and PE/VC firms
At Egret Consulting, leadership search is not a line-item service. It is at the core of what we do.
We have built our reputation by helping companies across the electrical industry identify and secure Vice President through C-Suite leaders who can actually move a business forward. Not just maintain it. Not just manage it. Lead it. That includes manufacturers, distributors, reps, integrators, utilities, design firms, engineering firms, and technology-driven organizations that are reshaping how power is generated, delivered, and controlled.
That also includes private equity and venture backed organizations where the expectations around leadership are often very different.
In those environments, leadership is directly tied to value creation. Timelines are tighter. Accountability is sharper. The need for clarity, execution, and measurable results is constant. Whether it is a platform investment building out its leadership bench or an add-on acquisition that needs stronger direction, the right executive can dramatically impact outcomes. We understand those dynamics and know how to identify leaders who are comfortable operating with that level of visibility and pressure, while still building sustainable, scalable businesses.
The reality is that leadership hiring at this level is different. The stakes are higher. The margin for error is smaller. A strong hire can accelerate growth, reshape culture, and open new markets. The wrong hire can stall momentum for years. That is why our process is grounded in deep industry understanding and real relationships, not just resumes and job descriptions.
We spend the time to understand what success truly looks like for each client. That means going beyond the obvious requirements and digging into the dynamics of the business, the gaps in the leadership team, and the direction the company is trying to go. From there, we identify leaders who not only have the experience, but who align with the pace, expectations, and culture of the organization.
Not every leadership need, however, requires a full time executive.
Increasingly, we are working with clients who need immediate leadership impact without making a permanent hire. This is where fractional leadership comes into play. A fractional executive brings senior level expertise into an organization on a part time or project basis. It allows a company to address a specific challenge, stabilize a function, or build a strategy without committing to a full time role before the timing is right.
The difference between full time and fractional leadership is not just about hours or cost. It is about intent and timing.
A full-time executive is an investment in the future of the business. This person becomes part of the fabric of the organization. They build teams, shape culture, and are accountable for long term results. The search process reflects that level of commitment. It is deliberate, comprehensive, and focused on long term alignment.
A fractional leader, on the other hand, is often brought in to solve a defined problem or bridge a gap. It may be a company preparing for rapid growth, navigating a transition, or needing expertise that does not yet justify a full-time seat at the table. The expectation is immediate contribution and measurable impact in a shorter window.
Both models are valuable. Both require the right person.
What we do at Egret is help our clients think clearly about which path makes the most sense and then execute on it. We do not force a solution. We listen, we challenge when needed, and we guide based on what we are seeing across the industry every day.
The electrical industry is evolving quickly. Leadership is no longer just about operational excellence. It requires adaptability, commercial awareness, and the ability to lead through change. The companies that recognize this and invest accordingly are the ones that continue to grow and outperform.
Our role is to make sure they have the leadership in place to do exactly that.
