Regional Sales Manager – Western United States – 5661
Egret Consulting
If you are a consultative sales professional with expertise in ADMS, SCADA, DMS, OMS, and Substation Automation and understands the unique challenges facing today’s electric utilities, municipal power providers, and rural electric cooperatives, this is an opportunity to represent technology that is helping modernize the grid. This role is about much more than selling software. It is about becoming a trusted advisor who understands utility operations, listens to customers, uncovers business challenges, and delivers solutions that improve reliability, efficiency, and operational performance. The position focuses on driving growth throughout the Western United States by developing new business while expanding long standing customer relationships in a market experiencing tremendous investment in grid modernization, resiliency, and digital transformation.
Success in this position comes from building credibility with executive leadership, engineering teams, operations personnel, and decision makers across investor owned utilities, municipal utilities, and electric cooperatives. Every conversation begins with understanding the customer’s objectives before recommending technology that addresses operational needs. This is true solution selling where relationships, business acumen, and technical understanding create lasting partnerships rather than transactional sales.
The Regional Sales Manager owns the territory from business development through contract execution. You will identify and qualify new opportunities, cultivate strategic accounts, develop territory plans, manage an active sales pipeline, present software solutions to utility leadership, negotiate complex agreements, and collaborate closely with internal technical, product, and customer success teams throughout the sales cycle. Industry conferences, customer visits, executive presentations, and ongoing account development are all part of maintaining a strong presence across the region while accurately forecasting opportunities and driving consistent revenue growth.
The ideal candidate brings a proven history of enterprise software sales with a consultative approach that focuses on solving customer problems rather than selling products. Experience calling directly on electric utilities, municipal utilities, or electric cooperatives is essential. You understand lengthy sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and the importance of earning trust throughout the buying process. You know how to navigate complex organizations, communicate value to both operational and executive audiences, and close strategic opportunities that deliver meaningful business outcomes.
Candidates should possess several years of successful quota carrying software sales experience with demonstrated success developing new business and growing existing accounts. Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills are expected, along with the ability to work independently across a large geography while collaborating effectively with internal teams. Experience within the electric utility market, particularly with operational technologies or software platforms supporting grid modernization, will position someone for immediate success. Travel throughout the Western United States and Canada should be expected.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys solving complex business challenges, thrives in a relationship driven environment, and wants to make a meaningful impact on the future of electric utility operations through innovative software solutions.
