A MEP Engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to lead its electrical department as a key succession hire due to an upcoming retirement. This individual will oversee a team of engineers, manage electrical design for building projects (including healthcare, schools, park districts, and commercial facilities), and ensure the delivery of high-quality, accurate construction documents. The role is client-facing and requires someone who can both perform engineering work and guide junior staff.

The ideal candidate will have a BSEE, an active Illinois PE license, and 10–20+ years of experience in building systems, with a well-rounded understanding beyond just power or lighting. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to mentor younger engineers and direct work across disciplines.
