I am partnering with an industry leading SCADA / Substation and Distribution Automation software / hardware supplier serving Electric, Transit, Renewable, and Water/Wastewater Utilities with engineering, manufacturing, training, and service from project inception to completion. We are seeking an Applications Engineer with a BSEE or Technical Degree and strong technical foundation in SCADA / Distribution Automation, computer equipment, networking software, and communications. Market background in Transit applications, Electric Utilities, Power Knowledge (VAR, PF, Load Management, Capacitance, Single vs. Three Phase, Watts, Faults, etc., Smart Grid, Fault Isolation) and / or SCADA/DCS/RTU/PLC System knowledge

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reads specifications from a Request for Quote, both system and hardware, and is involved the decision whether to quote.
• Prepares price quotations (Systems and Hardware).
• Prepares Terms and Conditions for quotation.
• Prepares parts lists and proposals for systems.
• Assists the field sales group as required.
• Speaks to customers to determine their requirements.
• Quotes hardware as required.

You will assist with Sales and Marketing:

• Exp. working with Manufacturing Representatives
• Exp. working with Distributors
• Product Sales/Marketing
• Software
• Hardware
• Computer Systems
• Writing of Product Brochures, Proposal Material, Bulletins, Literature, White Papers, etc.
• Proposal Development
• Writing technical explanations
• Table of Compliances
• Experience and knowledge of bonding, insurance, payment terms, warranty terms, FOB Shipping, Import/Exporting, taxes
• Commercial Terms & Conditions
• Cost Sheets

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Networking (hardware & software)
• Communication: wireless, lease line, microwave, etc.
• Database: SQL, ODBC, Oracle, third party, etc.
• ACAD
• Server (enterprise); installation, configuration experience
• Schematic Reading
• Mechanical design and layout experience
• Parts List, BOMs
• Layout, Interconnect and Block Diagram Exp.
• Protocols, which ones, programming, configuration, etc.
• MBTF Calculations
• HMI (Products and working experience)
• SCADA, DCS Systems
