Egret Consulting

I am partnering with one of the oldest and most respected providers of transmission and distribution products that has serviced the electrical power industry for over five decades. Over the years, the organization has provided the material and services for over 9,000 projects in the utility, municipal, and industrial markets while also supplying distributors and contractors serving clients across the United States. This is the only organization in the industry that provides in-house engineering, on-premises steel fabrication, and electrical packaging solutions.

We are seeking an energetic Civil-Structural Engineer who will be responsible for the design of transmission line/substation structures and foundations. This is a dynamic opportunity for a person willing to be flexible, wear multiple hats, and execute the technical needs of day-to-day projects.

This work will entail the design of EHV, HV, and MV transmission structures using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software and the design/layout of EHV, HV, and MV Substation support structures that adhere to IEEE and ASCE standards. The candidate will interpret written client Specifications and be able to assist in the preparation of Preliminary Designs and Proposals. You will also be responsible for carrying out project management from onset of the contract through the delivery of the product or completion of the project.

Requirements: BS degree in Civil (or Structural) Engineering and registered PE License (or EIT with ability to obtain PE).

If you have proven experience, specifically in transmission structure design with PLS-CADD / PLS-POLE software or the equivalent experience in substation structure design with STAAD or equivalent software – this is for you!

We need to talk if you have an engaging personality and aren’t seeking to disappear into a cubicle for a week as you work. The organization is widely recognized as an industry leader, but very much has a family feel and approach. Teamwork and collaboration are found throughout the company. You will interact regularly across all functions. There aren’t daily meetings or meetings to schedule additional meetings. Decisions are made quickly and made in the best interest of the customer and project. The Structural Engineer is a highly visible role in the organization, and this is a company that you can (and will) grow with – both personally and professionally. Team members are long tenured and there is a genuine bond between employees. If liking who you work matters to you and being a part of an organization where your contributions will be recognized and valued, you’ve found the right new home!

Relocation is offered along with a competitive salary (based on your professional experience) and annual bonus (tied to company performance).
