Electrical Engineer – UL 891 – Long Island, NY area

If you’re an Electrical Engineer who enjoys solving problems that don’t come with a standard answer, this is the kind of opportunity that doesn’t come along very often.

This role is built for someone who thrives in custom power distribution design and enjoys being part of the entire engineering process, from the first customer conversation through final manufacturing. Every project presents a new challenge. Every solution is engineered with purpose. If you appreciate seeing your designs move directly from concept into production under the same roof, you’ll find that incredibly rewarding here.

For decades, this organization has earned an outstanding reputation by doing what many manufacturers simply cannot. They solve complex power distribution challenges with speed, precision, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Their ability to engineer highly customized solutions has made them the trusted choice for electrical contractors, consulting engineers, distributors, manufacturers’ representatives, and end users across the country. Demand continues to outpace capacity, creating a steady backlog of business and a strong foundation for continued growth. Manufacturing, engineering, and leadership all work side by side, creating an environment where collaboration is immediate, decisions happen quickly, and great ideas become reality without unnecessary bureaucracy.

You will become one of the technical faces of the organization. While strong engineering fundamentals are essential, your ability to communicate with customers is just as important. You’ll spend time meeting with contractors, consulting engineers, distributors, and manufacturers’ representatives to understand application requirements, answer technical questions, and develop specifications that ultimately become engineered solutions.

Most projects are not pulled from a catalog. They are designed specifically around each customer’s application, requiring thoughtful engineering and a practical understanding of how low voltage power distribution equipment is designed, built, and installed.

Working closely with manufacturing, you’ll develop electrical designs that can be efficiently produced while maintaining the performance and reliability customers expect. Because production is onsite, you’ll have direct access to the people building your equipment, allowing for immediate collaboration and continuous improvement throughout the design process.

The current focus is on UL 891 switchboards and low voltage power distribution equipment, although the organization continues expanding its capabilities and expects this engineer to grow into medium voltage applications over time. For someone looking to broaden their technical expertise while remaining deeply involved in power distribution, this creates an exceptional long term career path.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in electrical design engineering within the power distribution industry. Experience designing switchboards, switchgear, or panelboards is a must. Just as important is the ability to comfortably engage with consulting engineers, electrical contractors, and customers, translating technical requirements into practical engineered solutions. You should understand how electrical systems are specified, manufactured, and ultimately installed in the field while possessing the communication skills to earn credibility with both technical and commercial audiences.

If you’re looking for a position where your engineering expertise is valued, your customer interaction extends beyond conference calls, and your work directly influences products that keep critical electrical systems operating safely and reliably, this opportunity deserves a closer look. You’ll join a respected organization with an outstanding reputation, an impressive backlog of business, and a commitment to engineering excellence that continues to set it apart in the marketplace.
