Applications Specialist / Remote
Some roles are technical. Some roles are relationship driven. The best Applications Specialists know how to do both at a very high level.
My client is looking for someone who can walk onto a jobsite, immediately earn credibility with electrical contractors, and become a trusted resource because they genuinely understand the industry, the work, and the people doing it every day. This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk. It is built for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, building relationships, and becoming part of the contractor community.
The right person for this role likely comes from the electrical trade or has spent significant time working alongside contractors, engineers, and end users. You do not need to be an engineer, but you do need enough technical depth to speak confidently about raceway systems, installations, applications, specifications, and field conditions. More importantly, you need the ability to connect with customers authentically. Contractors need to see you as one of them. Someone who understands the realities of the field, knows how to communicate without ego, and can help solve problems without creating friction.
This position is highly visible and relationship focused. Day to day, you will spend time calling on contractors, conducting jobsite walks and audits, supporting distributor and rep relationships, meeting with engineers and end users, and helping customers determine the best solutions for their applications. A major part of the role involves installer certifications and technical training. Some presentations will be held onsite, others virtually, and many within apprenticeship and trade training environments. The ability to read the room, understand your audience, and communicate technical information in a practical and relatable way is critical.
This organization has also made a meaningful investment in the future of the electrical industry. Through partnerships with apprenticeship and training programs across the country, they are helping develop the next generation of electricians entering the trade. This role will play an important part in those efforts by building relationships with training centers, instructors, apprentices, contractors, and local industry organizations. It is an opportunity to influence the industry while building long term relationships that matter.
The environment itself is one of the biggest reasons people join and stay. This is a fourth-generation family owned organization with more than a century of history serving the electrical industry. While the business operates at a significant scale, the culture remains entrepreneurial, collaborative, and highly personal. People are trusted to operate like professionals. Leadership believes in giving employees the freedom to build their business, develop their own style, and create success in a way that feels authentic to them. High performers are noticed, recognized, rewarded, and given room to continue growing.
The company provides corrosion resistant electrical solutions used in demanding industrial and commercial environments across North America. Their solutions support critical infrastructure and applications where performance, reliability, and long-term durability matter. Customers rely on them not simply because of the products they manufacture, but because of the technical expertise and field support they provide throughout the life of a project.
Success in this role is measured by influence, engagement, and relationship development as much as revenue. The person who excels will become a trusted extension of both the customer and the sales organization. You will be viewed as a resource that helps solve problems, support installations, educate the market, and ultimately help close business through credibility and trust.
This role offers significant long term career potential. Depending on your strengths and interests, future opportunities could include business development, national accounts, product marketing, engineering support, or broader commercial leadership positions. For someone who wants the ability to build a meaningful career within an organization that values people, performance, and long-term growth, this is a unique opportunity.
Compensation includes a strong base salary plus variable compensation, with total earnings expected to exceed the $160k range for successful performers. The position is remote and requires approximately 60% travel. Candidates must be located near a major airport.
