Engineering Operations Manager – Power Distribution – FL
Our client has earned an outstanding reputation designing and manufacturing custom electrical power distribution equipment that serves some of the most demanding commercial, industrial, and utility applications in the market. Their growth has been driven by engineering expertise, close collaboration with customers, and a commitment to delivering solutions that solve complex power distribution challenges. With manufacturing, engineering, and operations working side by side, the organization continues to invest aggressively in expanding both its capabilities and its people.
As that growth continues, they are seeking an Engineering Operations Manager to provide the leadership, structure, and operational discipline needed to take an already talented engineering team to the next level.
This is far more than a people management role. It is an opportunity to shape how an engineering organization operates. You will have a direct impact on workflow, standardization, engineering processes, and the development of a growing team while helping build the operational foundation for the company’s next phase of expansion. If you enjoy creating order from complexity, improving efficiency, mentoring engineers, and implementing best practices that allow organizations to scale, you will find this opportunity incredibly rewarding.
Leading a team of Switchboard Designers, you will oversee the design and development of highly engineered low voltage switchboards, junction boxes, busway systems, and related electrical distribution equipment. Your focus will extend beyond technical oversight. You will establish engineering standards, improve operating procedures, develop consistent workflows, and ensure projects move efficiently from concept through manufacturing while maintaining exceptional quality and compliance.
Working closely with manufacturing, operations, testing, and executive leadership, you will help prioritize engineering resources, remove obstacles, improve communication between departments, and continuously identify opportunities to enhance product quality, manufacturability, and overall execution. You’ll review complex design packages, electrical one line drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of material, and customer submittals while ensuring compliance with UL, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and IEEE standards.
The ideal candidate brings an engineering degree along with a strong background designing switchgear or switchboard products within the electrical power distribution industry. Leadership experience is essential, as is the ability to coach engineers, establish accountability, and create an environment where both people and processes continue to improve. Experience with utility applications, electrical distribution systems, and custom engineered products will allow you to make an immediate impact. Exposure to Fusion 360 or AutoCAD is beneficial, while a Professional Engineer license is highly desirable.

If you’re looking for an opportunity where your influence extends well beyond design reviews and project meetings, this is it. You’ll play a key role in building the engineering organization, improving how work gets done, developing future leaders, and helping shape the direction of a business that continues to invest in innovation and long-term growth.
