Project Manager
Egret Consulting
Switchgear Project Manager – FL
Some project management roles are about keeping schedules updated and attending status meetings. This opportunity is about owning projects from the moment an order is received until the equipment is delivered, installed, and the customer is confident they made the right decision.
Our client is redefining what customers should expect from custom electrical power distribution manufacturers. Built by industry professionals who understood firsthand the frustration of extended lead times and inconsistent execution, the company was created to challenge the status quo. Today, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics all operate under one roof, allowing them to deliver custom switchboards and critical power equipment with a level of speed, responsiveness, and quality that is changing expectations across the industry.
As demand continues to accelerate, they are looking for a Switchgear Project Manager to become a key part of that growth.
This is not a role where you simply monitor project milestones. You will own every aspect of the customer experience after the order is placed, serving as the central point of communication between customers, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and field operations. Your ability to anticipate issues before they become problems, communicate proactively, and keep projects moving forward will directly impact customer satisfaction and future business.
Every project presents a different challenge. One day you may be coordinating engineering revisions on a custom switchboard package. The next, you’ll be working through manufacturing schedules, reviewing material availability, managing customer expectations, or collaborating with production to ensure critical deadlines remain intact. Success comes from balancing technical understanding with exceptional organization, strong communication, and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast moving manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate has experience managing projects involving electrical distribution equipment such as switchboards, switchgear, panelboards, or other custom power distribution products. Experience working for an OEM manufacturer is essential, with backgrounds from organizations such as ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Eaton, or similar manufacturers being especially valuable. Whether your career has been rooted in project management, engineering, or technical design, you understand how custom electrical equipment moves from concept through manufacturing and ultimately into the customer’s facility.
A solid understanding of UL requirements and electrical distribution products is expected. Experience managing projects involving high rise construction, multifamily developments, mission critical facilities, or data centers is certainly beneficial. PMP certification and familiarity with Oracle platforms used for supply chain management and order tracking would be welcomed but are not required.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this opportunity is the chance to help build something from the ground up. This is a newly established and rapidly growing division where your voice will be heard, your ideas will be welcomed, and your experience can directly influence future processes and best practices. Rather than stepping into a mature organization where everything has already been decided, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape how project management operates as the business continues to expand.
The position is based onsite in the greater Sarasota, Florida area, where close collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and operations allows projects to move efficiently from design through production. Relocation assistance is available for the right individual.
If you enjoy being at the center of complex projects, thrive in fast paced manufacturing environments, and take pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience while helping build an organization for the future, this is an opportunity where your impact will be visible from day one.
